Vertical Jump Power training (Phase 1)
Welcome to The Vertical Jump Power training program presented by Co- owner of A1 Performance Club and owner of Northern Kinetics, Kevin Buckley.
This program has been designed to maximally increase vertical power as it pertains specifically to jumping. The Vertical Jump Power program is ideal for athletes whose sport requires explosive upward movement (ie. basketball, football, volleyball, etc.). This particular program has been utilized by many athletes at both the collegiate and professional level.
Phase 1 acts as a primer for phases 2 and 3, with the primary focuses being to strengthen the ankle and foot, as well as prepare the musculature required for jumping to produce a high rate of force very quickly.
Phase 1 will incorporate both weight training and plyometrics. Many of these movements require a large range of motion and/or a very specific tempo. It is important to stick to these requirements as closely as possible in order to get the most out of the following phases.
